Crockpot Applesauce Recipe

After our family trip to a local orchard we ended up with a ton of apples, so I decided to make some applesauce which is one of my sons favorite snacks. I love to use my crockpot for everything! This recipe will make your house smell super amazing and get you in the fall spirit too!

Ingredients:

  • 8-12 apples of different varieties (varies depending on size)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of white or brown sugar ( I made a batch of each and prefer brown sugar)
  • 1/2 cup of water or apple cider (I used water)
  • 1 tbs lemon juice

Directions:

First you are going to want to wash and peel your apples ( can leave peels on if you plan to use a blender or food processor, they have the most nutrients!), then core and slice them into fours. I sliced some of mine smaller because I had such large apples. Toss them into your slow cooker with the lemon juice then add in the rest of your ingredients. Cook your sauce on high for about 3 1/2 to 4 hours, and that’s it! You just made homemade applesauce!! This recipe made 4 16oz mason jars worth of sauce for me and I cooked 2 batches at the same time. You could decorate your jars with some twine and give them to family members as a nice fall gift, or keep it for yourself because it’s so good! I hope you enjoyed this recipe! I will be using some of this sauce to make homemade fruit leathers check back in for a tutorial and recipe on that as well! Leave me a comment with your thoughts on this recipe!
